Food Access for Community Members in Need
Slow Food is proud to be part of a food-access working group that includes representatives from food-related organizations, businesses and agencies. Slow Food has taken on the role within this group to support local farmers and ranchers, and to create a system to get their healthy food directly to those in need. We offer “Veggie Vouchers” through St. John’s Medical Center to bring fresh and healthy food to community members who suffer from food insecurity or illness at zero cost to the individual. If you love local food and are in a position to help others in our community that are in need, there is an option to add a donation to your online marketplace order.
The Teton Conservation District is a primary supporter of the Online Marketplace through grant funding.
The launch of the Online Marketplace is also made possible by a timely lead gift from the The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole through their Emergency Response Fund, out of recognition of the need to support local farmers and provide healthy food to the community during this crisis.
Wind River Capital Management is our People’s Market Presenting Sponsor. The market would not be possible without their support and partnership of our year-round markets.
