Teton Farmer Fund 2023 

Purpose

The goal of the Teton Farmer Fund is to increase the amount of good, clean, and fair food in our community by helping those who produce it.

Description

Slow Food in the Tetons offers an annual fund to support local agriculture. Grant requests can be up to $10,000. Multiple smaller grants may be considered. Grant funds are raised by Slow Food in the Tetons and matched by The Teton Conservation District.

Funding decisions are made by a grant committee that includes Slow Food in the Tetons, Teton Conservation District, and a member of the public.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Eligible Recipients:
    • Local and regional food producers. Local is defined as grown within 100 miles or less from Jackson, WY. Regional is defined as grown within 250 miles or less from Jackson, WY.
    • Producers must adhere to good, clean, and fair food principles.
    • Preference is given to producers that participate in Slow Food programming.
  • Requirements:
    • If the farm or ranch is new (less than 24 months since being established), applicants must include a business plan as an attachment to the application submission email.
    • A minimum of 25% matching funds is required, multiple sources of matching funding is encouraged.

Grant Cycle and Application Timeline

  • Grant applications for the 2023 Teton Farmer Fund open on November 14th, 2022. Applications are due no later than January 13th, 2023.
  • Grant recipients will be notified of their award on February 10th, 2023.
  • Grant recipients must sign and submit the award letter (grant contract) by February 22nd, 2023. Grant check to follow shortly thereafter.
